I posted earlier on my lethargic chicken...... sat on a roost for 24 hours without movement. she's at home with me now, but she hasn't laid an egg in two days.
Are these signs of becoming egg bound?

Hmmm More info please?

1) What type of bird , age and weight.

2) What is the behavior, exactly.

3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?

4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms?

5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.

6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.

7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.

8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.

9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?

10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?

11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.

12) Describe the housing/bedding in use

Have you felt for an egg? I could feel it in mine. Is her vent pulsing? Does she try to strain? These are some of the things mine did. I thought at first she was going broody as I kept finding her in the nest. I finally picked her up and felt the egg near her vent.

the coop: clean pine shavings, straw in nest boxes

As other posters suggested, massage her "belly", Flip her up-side down and find the breast bone. Follow the breast bone down towards the vent. The breast bone will stop about halfway through her wing. After that the area should be soft and pliable like her crop almost. If you feel anything hard you need to treat as if she was egg bound.

How do I treat an egg bound chicken?

Sorry, new to all this.... the first time I've ever had a sick chick.

is there any cure for this?

Impacted crop

Take an eye dropper ect. and full it with olive oil. Dribble the oil along her beak and she should drink it. After that let her rest for two or three minutes. Then massage her crop gently. Let her rest for 2-3 min. for every 6-7 min. of massaging. After a few minutes the crop will get softer and softer. If her breath starts to smell you need to stop massaging and post back ASAP.

yeah, I was about to do just that, and then I smelled her breath, which smells of nothing..... so could it still be a IC or could it be something more serious like a tumor or (hopefully) a benign growth? It is about the size of half a tennis ball, very hard on one side and not so much on the other, and if you kind of cradle it in your hand and move it up and down it doesn't feel like its connected to anything..... and if you look at it under the feathers it has some purple veining on it....
I am really stuck on as to what this could be.......
