Please tell me this isn’t bumble foot

If you posted the before and after pics along with an ad for a magical cream that heals chicken feet I would be giving you my credit card number instead of typing this.

WOW, could you do my feet now?
Lol! I think it’s me sitting in the coop and drinking white claw that I noticed it early enough.

And thanks to this group.

Oh, and for stopping them from tipping things over

Yeah, all of them spend all day working out the tipping points on everything in the place...

I use rocks and bricks both around things and sometimes inside water bowls. (Just wash the rock same as you wash anything else)

For a lot of water issues I use a bowl within a bowl (or old soup pot) the spill is then contained in the second container.

But
...

They will continue to out think us... Clearly they discovered the tipping point... And they like it.
this was my first time raising 10 at once. When I left for work the waterer was full enough they couldn’t knock it over. But because of their numbers it was depleted and lite enough that it wasn’t the case after a few hours.

update:
I treated for four nights then stopped

here is what it looks like now.

amazing! even more amazing is that you can take such great pictures of the bottoms of their feet without a camera assistant.

(but seriously)

those are some mightily beautiful feet. You did an amazing job on treating them. AND, you gave us all a picture of a new foot issue that isn't well documented along with the treatment.

"if" you were so inclined... you could take the images and the pertinent parts of this thread and post an article on "early stages of Contact Dermatitis/Foot Pad Dermatitis" you now have cause, impact, and treatment.

if you need help (or proof read/details), just ask, but from your posts, you seem very articulate and well informed.

thanks again for the update, it is super nice to see the happy-feet once in a while. Mostly people post the images of the suffering hen, we don't get to see the happily-ever-after-ending to the story.

thank you!

im not familiar with the procedure in creating an article and I do think this would be a good reference for this issue. I would likely need some help in stream lining the process. im sure I could figure it out but it would be faster with help.

without Wyorp Rock mentioning what it could be I would have been hard pressed to figure this out. throughout my investigating I did not come across this until they gave me a name for it.

Exactly, I had never heard of it either and the cause seems so ordinary that I suspect it happens much more than gets diagnosed.

I'll go snoop to see how to make an article and report back.

On the contribution of WR, I have seen others mention credit in the article to thank the people who helped and shared knowledge.

It seems posting an article is:

Click on first item in menu at top of screen (three horizontal bars)

Select articles

Top left, green button (post article)

Then choose the section (in this case injuries diseases )

***
You can check out some of the others as examples.
