They have all been exposed to MG. The seller's flock most likely is infected with MG....it's not genetics....either the seller doesn't know their flock has it or doesn't care. I certainly wouldn't buy anymore from the seller.Guys please help!! I lost my sweet tuxedo quail mia a couple days ago and now this one has come up sneezing and this red lump under one eye..she's clawing it to death and quite mean..she had Neosporin on her in the pics but none of my other birds were ever around Mia..and I kept Mia alive nearly 2 weeks.. but this one is showing SOME of the same signs Mia did..both these birds as well as the other 8 tuxedos all were bought on the same day, they are all the same age, came from the same place,everything..I bought 4 jumbo courtinix a couple days later but they r kept on a Entire diff side of the property..is this going to happen to all of them like a bad bloodline??this tuxedo quail is Freya
The sad fact is, you will have to cull all the birds, disinfect everything, cages, coop, waterers, feeders, even your clothes and shoes you have worn while working with your birds.
Even if they survive the initial infection, they are carriers for life. If they breed, MG can still be transmitted vertically through the egg.
This is the reason I always stress biosecurity and sanitation.
Sorry your having to go through this, it's really a horrible disease.
