Please Tell Me Why?! *Not an emergency*

Sorry, sometimes it happens like this. You may still get some to hatch. If not I'd work on my bator to make sure it working the best I can do and try again.

Sounds normal to me.

I have done that with nearly every animal I ever owned that was about to deliver.

Horse...I just slept in the barn isle
Cows...slept in the barn
Dogs...Slept in their room

when awake...I just spent my time walking over to check everything. I was exhauted by the time the babe(ies) arrived.

Just wait until you add picking up the flashlight every time you stand and stare, telling yourself NOT to candle them again, they need to rest. But you soooo want to look in there and see if anything has changed inside each egg.

Pick it up, put it down.
Stand and stare.

Pick it up, put it down.
Stand and stare...

My bator is in the basement. As many times as I go up and down those stairs, why am I not losing any weight?

wegotchickens! I DO THAT! I stand there with the maglite thinking maybe I should check...just a little peek and then I think of speckledhens little slap smiley..and I put the maglite down. My DH stays at home so I call him and ask him if he checked on the bator, the answer is always...yes dear

. I really would love to know what causes that anticipation. That is besides the fuzzybutts that come along at some point. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one!

For me it's the magic of watching them develop. Wanting to know EXACTLY what's going on. Heaven forbid they should ever invent a clear medium that would allow for a healthy hatch. I would be mesmerized.

I have fallen in love with staggered hatches because I have eggs at each stage and have eggs I need to candle every few days. And since they are shipped eggs, failures just mean I get to order another set (for now).
And, thankfully, I have homes for many chicks once I pick the ones I want to raise to show.

Now the secret's out!!! I thought I was the only one who stared at the eggs, LOL. Heck, I even do hand turning so I can feel more connected.
Reminds me of my father-years ago he was listening to OTB horse races on the tv, but no picture, just broadcast. In the middle of a race he was listening to, I jumped in front of the tv and he freaked out cause I was blocking the view-but they're really wasn't any, was there?
