Please tell me your method of collecting/storing/washing/dating eggs

I bring them in when Blue hasn't decided to sit on them all (which she is doing again today - I just went out and brought her some greens to snack on). Then I run hot water, quickly pass the egg under the water, scrub with the scrubby to get the nastiness off, dry and put in the fridge. Fresh eggs go into a dish until there are enough to fill a carton and then that carton goes on the bottom of the pile. I use eggs off the top of the carton. When too many, DH brings some fresh ones to work and I cook up some older ones for the dogs.
Soon we'll see how selling them at the end of the driveway goes. We'll either make a few dollars or we'll be giving away eggs. Either way, they'll be gone lol

Hot water will expel the dirt, and they are not soaking in the soap water either. The soap would have to make it through the shell and through the membrane to effect the eating egg. It doesn't do that so it is fine to use soap. Plus I'm using dish washing liquid, which is safe.
