I have seen many pictures of Cornish Crosses and some look like these birds showing alot of pink skin and hardly any feathers and other photos where they look more like a California White.

Mine were only fed pelleted feed once a day and then they had to forage outside the rest of the day and when I butchered them, they were about 5 lbs and not very fatty. I was happy with my results.

Is there a reason for the difference? Breeders or feed regimen?

Exactly the way they're supposed to look if you're feeding them to slaughter at 6 to 7 weeks . My little bit of experience at witholding feed is that the rush to the feeders may possibly result in weaker , or inferior structured , individuals getting injured . These birds are bred to eat massive amounts of feed and convert it to massive amounts of meat .

Oh, good! I have 2 of these shelters 8'x8'. I moved them into the clean one yesterday, and will relocate the dirty one now. I let them out every day, and they do free range quite a bit. I hope this all ends well.
