Hi all thanks for letting me join I’m new here but noticed your forum is the most helpful by far
Long story short I had 6 kharki Campbell eggs all died in the egg apart from 2, 1 didn’t get out it’s shell the other got out after a 2 day long struggle but has this horrundes sack on it, I’ve read all the forums on and seen most pics on attached yolk sacks but not seen one as bad as mine he’s alive and peeping but very week I’ve stayed up all night hoping he makes it any help on what I can do thanks in advance angie x pic attached

Ugh. .that doesn't look good. :hugs
All you can really do is put it in a cup on a clean paper towel which it looks like you've done. keep it warm and wait. It will either absorb or pass on.
That looks like more than yolk to me though. . I'm not sure what to make of it.
@WVduckchick ?

Thanks for the reply, i feel so helpless I agree it looks like a big mess I will keep u updated, it looks more like a yolk to me would the membrane have got stuck to it do u think I don’t want to mess or touch it

It appears to me that it's from the vent...prolapsed vevt, the yolk should be where the umbilical cord is attached , above the vent, lower belly.
I'm sorry your having to deal with this :hugs the prognosis is not very good.

Thanks Sean, he’s a lot more active today but still hasn’t got on his feet, he came out the top part of his egg not the bottom and made a awful lot of noise and took ages to get out, I feel awful watching him I don’t think he’s going to make it either but thanks for the info, any idea what causes this?

Hi sean I’ve added some new pics it’s shrinking but does not smell to good, he’s pecking at it and is awake and lively I’ve just kept him clean and changed the paper towel every few hours, do u still think it’s a prolapsed vent?
