Pls help with ducklin emergency

Hi sean I’ve added some new pics it’s shrinking but does not smell to good, he’s pecking at it and is awake and lively I’ve just kept him clean and changed the paper towel every few hours, do u still think it’s a prolapsed vent?
I can't really tell to well by the pics. I'm going to tag a few others, maybe they can tell better than I can.

I can’t really tell from the pics either, being on mobile. I’d be tempted to try to rinse it off and see how it is attached. I wouldn’t get the duckling wet, just see if you can stretch it enough to tell exactly what it is. If it’s only holding on by a small thread, I’d snip it, about an inch away from the body. But if it’s yolk sack still needing to be absorbed, I’d try to give it a day or so before tying it off.

Best of luck with it!

You may indeed need to clip the dried stuff off that doesn't absorb. .but I don't know what to tell you as far as when it would be safe to do so.

I tied it off as advised earlier on today if seemed to dry quicker and I managed to snip most of the big part off and he’s not kicking at it anymore thank u so much all for the help and advice I was clueless and scared to even go near the poor thing
It's the yolk sack..Not a prolapse. You can use dental floss and tie it off tight away from the belly button so it dries up quickly and falls off.

@Angelakmills hows your duckling doing?
He’s dried out now all fluffy I took this pic while changing and cleaning the incubator as I’m petrified he’s going to get an infection he’s a lot more vocal and even opening his eyes thanks for asking I’m hoping he makes it :love
