You wonderful people,
The little guy seems to be getting stronger by the hour he’s managed to lift his head and stand for a few seconds but wobbles over, do I still leave him in the incubator? Or put him in the brooder? Thanks in advance angie x

@WVduckchick would be good to answer this. I would think it would be ok to put him under a light in the brooder but she's got WAY more experience than me so wait for her.

I can't remember if there are others that hatched too but if so they might pick on him so you maybe should put him by himself or watch him carefully.

Thanks for reply no he has no siblings he’s the only one out of 7 that made it out, we have another 6 eggs from a different batch due to hatch tuesday but I will separate them from him, I don’t think I can take it lol I found having my own two babies Less stressful than this :barnie

Your little one is precious and super lucky to have you caring for him/her. And you are absolutely right on when you referred to the wonderful people on this forum. They have helped me through my duck journey and helped me save my little duckling, Stevie. This is a great community to be a part of.

How’s he doing today?

Not sure whether you moved him out of the incubator or not, but while they aren’t able to move on their own, I like to keep them in the bator, because of the steady temp. The brooder can be up and down and if they can’t move around, they may get too hot or too cool.

Sorry if I gave wrong info about moving to the brooder I was going by my experience with the ducklings that hatched here under my hens I removed them after hatch an brought them inside an put them in the brooder they rested for that day and did fine. I sure hope your little one is okay today.
