The long story is really long and maybe I'll type it out someday. The important part is my little rooster got loose, into the desert and somehow lived. He also lost all the feathers on his back. Violently. I was too busy bandaging to take pictures of the aftermath, but just picture a raw roasting chicken except missing skin too. He's inside and pretty much immobile with the way I've got him wrapped, his butt isn't covered but most of the rest of his body is. I've got clean dressing with antibiotic ointment over the raw patch and he seems to be feeling much better. I held him on the couch for a while and told him what a poor little bird he is, he slept a bit then went into the bathtub where he's been eating and drinking as best he can when he keeps falling over. I've never seen the little red patch on the chin that bright, I think i remember reading that's a bad sign for something but not what. Is there anything else I should be doing, aside from keeping the wrapping loose and the dressing clean?
