plucker

i just looked at the "plucker " for $525.00 are you kidding me ? a half dozen hard rubber bungie cords attached to the inside of a washer basket will clean any bird you can process and cost less than $50.00

Some are better at building than thers. I am quite happy with my EZPLUCKER 151. No tweaking etc. i just want to pluck chickens not reivent the wheel. Forget that useD one and buy a EZ PLUCKER.

Can you post some pictures of the home-made pluckers you are talking about? Both the one made with the drill and the one mentioned here using an old washing machine? Oh, and would this plucker work well on ducks? My dad can build anything once he sees a picture of it, and we can't afford to pay hundreds for a plucker.

Thanks!!

Think washing machine broke down to the minimum parts needed to get the bottom of the tub to spin and drill holes to hold the rubber tips leaving the other holes for rinsing out the feathers and such. Remember water and electricity do not play well together! The Achorn Farm blog has some really well done pictures of a nice DIY plucker.

If you have a bunch of broilers to do on a regular basis a plucker is an investment. If you are doing a dozen birds a month, just dip and hand pluck with rubber gloves it is easier than you think.

Ahcorn Farm photo of bottom end of his plucker. Great blog by the way!!
