Plucking a chickens feathers

I was just curious, if you plucked a bantam chickens tail feathers if that would kill them.

No, but it would hurt like heck. Why do you want to do this?

The feathers were poor quality so I wanted to pluck a few so my birds would look better. I did this once to some OEGB and later the rooster died all the sudden. I was curious to know if that had anything to do with me plucking a few feathers.

The stress may have killed him, but not the feather plucking itself. The only dangerous feathers are blood feathers. Sometimes you need to pluck those if they are accidentally damaged in some way otherwise a bird can bleed to death.
