Plucking cornish x

Pintail, what kind of plucker did you buy ?
the one in my previous post (picture) cost me a little over $400.oo to build. about half of the cost was the 1 HP motor.
the wooden frame is mortise and tenon clear red oak. there is not any nails, or screws in it's construction.
the motor drives chain and sprocket , I designed the reducer assembly of sprockets to go from 1725 rpm at the motor, down to 192 rpm at the plucking disc.
Kits to build this type of plucker cost about
$700.oo..
I have built five of these and sold them for
$1200.oo/each..

my wife got me a yardbird plucker. It makes my life a lot easier. I looked into building one, but after I would have acquired parts, I could have bought a new one. Didn't make sense to me.

I just looked up the Yardbird plucker on youtube. nice machine for the money.
one difference between it and mine, I do not have to spray water on the chickens while they are being plucked.. We do about 20 chickens per batch on a weekend. until the 100 are done. it takes 5 weekends.
this year we didn't raise and meaties.
I am thinking of selling my plucker.
