Plucking feathers of tale

It is said that if we take out feathers of tale of hen who is laying egg, she will stop laying egg. Is it a fact or myth?

They stop laying after heavy stress or trauma. So in that regard yes but otherwise the tail feathers have nothing to do with laying.
