Plucking feathers out because stress?

I feed the higher protein to balance out the scratch grains I give daily...work out to about 18%.
But I seriously doubt 20% will trash their kidneys.
I doubt that too, especially when free-ranging, but when kept in a bare run and provided with feed ad lib some breeds may get problems stuffing themselves.

I think I will mix the All Flock Raiser and their current feed. We are working on extension of the run. It should be about 3 times more space. Hopefully I will have happy chicken again.

Is there a complete list of ingredients somewhere?

16% crude protein might not be enough if it consists of only herbal proteins. The total amount of 16% crude protein does not mean 16% digestible protein. A hen that is not free-ranging and therefore not able to feed herself the necessary animal protein in addition to the layer feed, might quickly develop nutrient deficiencies that she tries to balance by feather plucking.

If you want to stick with this feed you might want to consider improving the protein percentage by adding brewers yeast. 18% protein might work much better and you could mix with all flock raiser (20% crude protein) or similar feed to bring it up.

As a first aid you could try some real butter which provides them with a lot of valuable nutrients:

This helped with my chicken when some years ago because of the avian influenza here in Germany we all had to coop up our formerly free-rangig poultry and of course they started the plucking game shortly after.
Sorry one more question.. Will this butter work: https://www.freshdirect.com/pdp.jsp?catId=dai_butte_unsa&productId=dai_pid_2003603
Also how do give it my chicken? small cube or mix in the feed? Thanks.
