these two had (IMO) too much white from the beginning and I wanted to start with birds that had real penciling from the start. I posted their pictures before I sold them and several people said i was making a mistake by selling them to a nonbreeding home.

the newsletter regarding breeding for color mentions the solid shaft feather like these birds have. But I need to go back and figure out how these would be used, IF at all. Can someone postbits from that article here?

I'm not sure if Halo is breeding BR's - I know she has some, but you could see if she actually breeds and sells the eggs. Silly Stunt I believe also does sell BR chicks, don't know about hatching eggs. (that is for the Florida person)

Hey how many have had an increase in laying since Christmas? We were getting 2 eggs a day now up to six. Even dog is shedding some and we ave snow on the ground and more coming and low in the teens. Even one of my hens is threatening to go broody on me. Too dang cold for that now.

Blackridge16 good luck on your eggs being shipped and hatching at this time of the year.

I will not be giving or selling eggs or chicks this year. We really need to grow flock and I need to cull heavy to do it right.

Wishing you all nice an warm for rest of the week.

I found a name in my head of a fellow who is going to the big chicken show in Fla this weekend. His name on some post has been Pig Dad. He is showing some barred Plymouth Rocks at the show. If any of you are going this will be a good show to see rare breeds. He said he should be able to help some with his good strain of Barreds and also White Rocks. They are Standard Breed birds from a old strain out of Arizion. Top strains in the usa. bob

I tell you there are so many people breeding bantams that it is alot easier getting good stock. I can not have them here for the would be hawk and owl food. But very nice birds. I hope to get my LF looking that good.
