Plymouth Rock thread!

Very interesting indeed! Sounds like I have some reading to do, always new stuff to learn with chickens.

Id have to say boy, if I had to guess, since it has quite a bit of comb at 8 weeks and its very pink already. Also the pullets usually have a pretty good amount of black wash down the front of the legs, and this guy has very yellow legs. Really giving mixed signals, tho.
 
I would say cockerel. His comb is pretty pink and he has prominent wattles for 8 weeks. His legs are pretty yellow too, boys tend to get yellow legs a lot sooner than pullets.
 
I haven't given up hope yet. LOL although hope is shrinking more and more

Question about Colombian Rock pattern. Will the color 'clear' as the bird matures? Some of my colombians have a lot of black on their backs. Will that gradually go away as the bird gets older?

Yay for moi !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got a new partridge rock breeding roo and he is stunning :O !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will have to upload pics tomorrow. He is big, beautiful, and HUGE !!!!!!! Cant wait to start hatching, and thanks to dinamoe for bringing him to me !!!!!!
