Plymouth Rock thread!

Wish I could have made the show. But we have too much happening here for me to get away. I have found that most of the color varieties are bantam when shown. Only white and barred are shown large. Congrats on being a member, I need to reup my this next year when money is not so tight.

Pardon me for posting as a newbie to this thread, but I am curious how close or distant from standard these barred rocks are.

I do not expect "close to standard," since these are hatchery birds. However, they are from a hatchery outside the US, and I am curious how they compare to US hatchery birds.

I am new to posting pics, so will try another pic in the next post.

These birds have shown excellent cold-and-damp weather resistance to other breeds, and I am considering going with barred rocks as the basis for a flock.

This year I was just there as a spectator at the show but next year I definitely plan to enter a few of my Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks into the "The Dixie Classic / Tennessee Valley Poultry Club" in Knoxville, TN as they will be hosting the APA National.

Very nice Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks aoxa, I would really like to know the weight on the picture of the first SPPR cockerel as looking at the width between his legs and overall size I think he would have a awesome weight.
