They are all quite wide. I really like that about them. First picture he was taking a poop, so I don't think he normally stands with his legs that far apart lol.

I am excited to see if I can create my own meat bird using my biggest male with my CX girl, who is laying like a champ.

Your SPPR do look to have great size and I am looking forward to seeing what they fill out to in the future. Keep posting pictures! :)
 
I know it's super exciting when they start to lay, but honestly, you don't want to push them; they all but stop growing once they begin to lay, and so to reach their full size potential, it's best to grow them slowly. Also, you have much less instances of laying issues such as prolapse or internal laying when they start later. All that said, though - for sure, it's so exciting!

The earliest layer I have ever had was 18 weeks. My commercial type layers didn't start until 20 this year. Typically mine seem to start around 22 weeks on average. With the rocks I have now, the oldest are 23 and 24 weeks.


This girl is 23 weeks. She looks like she is getting close(ish). My rocks have tiny combs (the girls anyway), but the wattles and colour have me waiting.


This is one of my year old girls. She molted in October so is just coming back into lay. I have been getting eggs from her, so this picture is just to show you how my rocks have small combs.
