The Difference is A Hatchery Rock is usually bred to lay more productively. They are not Bred to APA or ABA standard. Therefore, they would do bad if you are showing them. A breeder quality rock is closer to the standard of perfection. If you want a rock for a pet both breeder and hatchery would be the same "quality" if you show your birds its best to buy from a breeder, and if you want them for eggs i would recommend a hatchery.

Who are the Blue Plymouth Rock Breeders out their.

I have a old time Plymouth Rock Fanciers Club member who use to breed Breed Blue Rocks years ago. He wants to contact anyone who has a good or even a fair Flock of Blue Rocks that are Standard Breed. Please post your names or send me a personel message of friends who have this color pattern. This member does not have a computer so I have to do all the leg work for him. I comunicate with him by mail and phone calls on the weekend. He has a plan that will take five years so he does not need super success this year. Look forward to your replys who can help him. Even if you got eggs from a good blue breeder and have a breeding pen this spring he is interested. Thank you. Bob Blosl

Here is an 8 week old Blue Plymouth Rock baby from Halo's eggs - isn't she a sweet little chunker!! She's just a ball of feathers with a head and legs.

It's actually the Ginger Ameraucana tucked under Mama's wing that I am worried about. I'll post a pic in a few weeks. That chic's got some long, lanky, feathered legs, and is a total "Mama's boy".

Here is a new picture of my P. Barred Rock Rooster and my two remaining hens. He keeps jumping my fence to the Ameraucanas, and thus, I get birds like the guy in the middle of the last picture.

ETA: He is just finishing up a molt, and his tail is not back in yet.

My hatchery birds lay very well best place to order is Privett or Welp who drop ships from Privett....they are smaller than my other Rocks but lay nice big brown eggs and have good partridge color if you hatch I have eggs they've been shipping well but right now for you I don't know if it's too cold.
