No one has any thoughts on him? He's the only PR I've raised and would really value the opinions of experienced breeders. (I won't be upset if you say he's terrible.)

EDIT to ad, those are beautiful Punky!

He was given to me after my friend's broody was killed by a dog and she couldn't look after the chicks. She got them from a 'breeder'. (Likely backyard hatchery setup) The chicks were supposed to be from show quality parents... I have my doubts. I think she was mislead about their quality.

I was suspicious he may not have been pure as a chick, and posted him on here a few weeks ago. I'm pretty certain none of the other chicks are even close to show quality. He at least has the right number of toes and right colored legs (some of the other chicks don't). Apart from that not having kept this breed I'm not sure what he should look like at this age.

He might turn out to be a ok bird. He has good yellow legs. His chick barring is pretty clean that means when they grow up they may have barring like Punky roosters males have. He has a little rainey day top line tilting down just a little. But you may have something ok. Just raise him up and take some pictures in the spring and we will have a better idea. He does not have to be a super show chicken to make you happy. Also, after raising him up you may want to get a few eggs from Punky Rooster and then cross the females onto him latter next year.

Thank you so much

I'll be sure to take more pics once he's grown up. He has such a nice temperament even if he's not breeding quality he'll get to live with the layers and just be pretty.

I'll defiantly be looking for more PR in spring, lovely personality and beautiful. Even my DH likes them so that is a huge plus!

I can see that working. Bonus if you had a nice splash roo, over bared hens you would get 100% solid blue pullets. Being sexlinks you'll know how many girls you have at hatching too
