So Rocks lay late??

I hatched a bunch of B/B/S rocks on Easter. Now 22 weeks later they are beautiful, healthy birds. The cockerels are interested in mating. The pullets don't even look close yet....pale combs etc.

Any ideas when I can expect the blessed event?

I have some close to the same age they've been going in the lay box just now and only one has a comb that looks like she getting serious I look for eggs from breeder birds around 24 weeks though some take a little longer the eggs start out bigger when they take longer in my experience.

VERY nice looking PR there!! Where did your PRs originate from? They are REALLY, REALLY hard to find! Took me almost 2 years to get started in Columbian Rocks and you are "right down the road" from me!!

Thanks

Scott

Mine are just from hatchery stock. I simply found some in my area (VERY HARD) and bred them across a rooster that I found in Haralson. The roo was of good quality himself, so I think that this bred in with the hatchery and other hens. This is my second generation. I will be hatching some more, and will likely have those at point of lay by the big CVPA show at the Coweta County fair grounds. If you want some I could hatch you some ASAP. Like you said we live right down the road. Hope to see you friend.
