I only see one of those pullets that is even MAYBE thinking about giving you an egg!! Takes them a looonnng time to get started, but they will make up for it by laying for more years. ....stan

I posted some pics of my Blue Plymouth Rocks on the Blue Rock thread but I guess no one looks at it anymore so I'm posting some of my pics here. They are 25 wks. old and were hatched from eggs that I received from "halo" in Fla. I kept one black pullet, two blue pullets and a blue cockerel for the basis of my future flock. If any of the Plymouth Rock gurus explain why bantam black rocks are recognized by the SOP and LF black rocks are not. I would appreciate any info on the matter. Thanks, Charles.

on your ? on the Black Rock LF, IDK might have something to do with (fuddy-duddies) maybe?

Reminds me of a post from last years show in Indianapolis a person showed an Orpington(LF) got big honours with it, it was a Brown Red, not a standard Orpington color and I'm not knocking the bird or the owner but how or what do you enter such as and why not or could their be a place for Black Rocks in the Plymouth rock section, huh?

Well it seems my GSBR roo knew exactly what he was doing..... I put a young pullet in with him and sure enough he KNEW what to do. I don't know what is going on, but if the new roo does not give me fertile eggs, I think I am going to take the hens out and trim them... they are VERY fluffy, but I have never had that problem with them before

It was the hens pen and he came later maybe that was the problem. Maybe I need to take the hens OUT for a week or so and then they will be the new kids on the block when I put them back. Any other thoughts?

Thanks for the thumbs up Jeff. How are your Barred Rocks coming along? We need some pics. As for the LF Black Rock question, maybe there are some judges or even an officer in the Plymouth Rock Fanciers Club that could respond. Charles.

My Stukel pullet, Dru, started laying a couple of weeks ago at the age of 27 weeks. Haven't posted here in awhile. The older Stukel hens are starting back laying as they finish up their molts.
