Hey Guys, I just wanted to know how many eggs would you get a day if you had 4 Plymouth rocks?

I use to have six, and from them I'd usually get 4-6 a day, so if yours are from a good layer line, you could get 4 a day, maybe even 5 if you have a double layer.

No, we only get about 2-4 a day though, Including our 2 RIR's

We have had Barred Plymouth Rocks and they averaged 3-4 eggs per day, so with four of them I would figure on about 14 eggs per week. Plymouth Rocks are beautiful and hardy birds, but if you're getting chickens strictly for laying lots of brown eggs, Sex Links or Black Australorps will give you more eggs.

Sorry a correction--they averaged 3-4 eggs per week each (not per day).

Some problems that face laying chickens from producing eggs include:

-Shortened day light (Winter time).
-Wrong feed being given.
-Stress from predators or an over zealous rooster/ to many roosters.
-Lice & mites.
-Old age.
-No where to lay.

So make sure that your birds are getting the right 'stuff' for laying.
At 1 1/2 years old their laying may have started to decline but usually most pure breeds can lay on strongly into their 4th and 5th years.
