plz help

i have a full grown rooster and I have four 7 week old hens can I put the hens in with the rooster. The only chicken in the coop is the rooster and I want to put the young hens in can I do this? Plz help

Hi

7 weeks is a little young to add the pullets to a full grown roo. I would wait until they are fully mature and able to handle him. It would be ashame if you added them to him and he injured one even if it was unintentional.

PS a rooster can handle 10 hens, any less and they are likely to be overbred and damaged.
