I have 3 6 week old hens and all the food I have is layers mash I have already started feeding them the layers mash is it okay for them to eat this? Ps. I really don't want to here from people saying that they are going to die because they won't its food not poison I'm just wondering if it will make them sick

Well, sounds as if you have answered your own post.

YES, it can ! Layers feed has calcium for good shell development etc. Young chicks are far from laying age - the calcium can damage their kidneys. You needn't take my word for it but, you did ask that we" Please help."

Layers feed is not poison to pullets/hens producing eggs. Baby humans don't eat adult foods and neither should chicks.

Welcome to BYC!

Drumstick Diva is correct...layer feed has too much calcium in it for young chicks. Your chicks need chick starter or starter/grower feed for their development. Save the layer feed for once they start laying.

Good luck to you!
