PO lost my guinea eggs!

Don't give up just yet....I had some d'Uccle eggs that got lost for a week, making all the eggs over 10 days old. Out of 8 or 9 eggs, I hatched 4. So stick them under your hen, and hope for the best. Good luck!!!

Thanks so much for the encouragement. My neighbor- an old chicken farmer himself, told me pretty much the same thing. He said if they were cool in the PO that whole week, they should be ok. If they were hot, then they won't be ok. I'm thinking it was pretty cool this past week anyways, and they were packed in the box the whole time indoors. So maybe they didn't get too warm.

My Silkie has pulled them all under herself and is sitting tight on them. We'll see in 28 days

how this all turns out.

I wouldn't worry so much about the age of them. Years ago, we had a friend give us a pair of chickens, we knew nothing about them, and let them completly free range, which is what he said to do. The hen hatched out 13 chicks, and you know it took her at least 2 weeks to lay that many eggs by herself, and it was in the summer. So at least give them a shot.

thanks both of you....I'll see how this goes. If no one hatches, I'll get back to you for eggs or young keets. Thanks so much! She's sitting tight today and looking glassy eyed (determined) whenever I get near her.
