So usually, I put a little water in a mug or glass bowl, add my egg and zap it. About half the time, it works beautifully, but the other half it EXPLODES! I read on another site to pierce the egg yolk with a fork before zapping... I tried that and still sometimes it blows up. I love poached eggs for breakfast, but I hate cleaning the microwave. Any tips? Is it just me?

Are you using low power?

To poach an egg in the microwave:
Put about two teaspoons of water in the bottom of a mug or ramekin, add the egg and microwave on low power until the whites have congealed, leaving the yolk runny. Usually takes a couple of minutes.

I fill a cereal bowl half way with water and nuke 1 1/2 minutes (whatever makes the water real hot) then crack the egg in and cook 1-2 minutes depending on the microwave have never exploded
