A friend of mine gave me some eggs to hatch, they're due the 5th of July. 6 of them, and they all started!
The hen is a black white crested Polish, the rooster is a bantam white Cochin. So, Pochin eggs.
I was over at her house and she was talking about how her rooster was trying and trying but seemed to not be able to succeed. So I asked her if she knew how to check fertility. We had 3 eggs from the hen, broke them all, one was fertile.
Then I mentioned how the next eggs would be fertile for a couple of weeks, that he only needed to get it right the one time really. Pretty funny conversation!
She ended up saving the eggs and bringing them over, so we can see what the cross looks like.
Puffy or not? Feathered feet? Crest? Black or white? LOL Can't wait!
She added the rooster in hopes of reducing the hen house drama. The only hen small enough for him to try with is the Polish. So we'll see!
