Poets corner! Share your inner bard!

Sorry it’s been awhile guys I just took a break from everything but I’m back and I have some new poems to share!
The sun grows dim
The moon drifts away
the tide goes in and out
All things go away
But until i go
Let me love you while I can
Let me hold onto you
Let me hold your hand
I love you to
But it hurts to say
Knowing one day
I’ll join the stars
And slowly drift away

Alone alone
I’m all alone
Just like the stars above
Miles apart
Hear them moan
But you were a comet
Lighting up my life
But only passing by
Only there for I moment
I couldn’t say goodbye
But I hope you’ll return
I pray you’ll remember
The light you left me
The light you left inside of me

Gentleman’s Prayer

Everywhere Ive searched,
Nowhere have I found.
Love is cruel
Ever beating me down.

As soon as I discover
What I long to find
Up it jumps
Cutting me down from behind.

Is it worth finding…
I have to believe ‘Yes’
For without another
Half is as good as it gets.

Kind and sweet…
Too good to be true.
Please Lord give me the strength…
I want to see this through.

Pain and misery
Both chances I will take
For maybe what I look for
Will finally settle out of the wake.

Good times and bad
Lessons I have learned
‘Cowboy Up’ comes to mind
…but there’s still fear of getting burned.

For a chance at love,
No risk is too great.
For somewhere I know
I have a soul mate.

So Lord if your hearing this,
Kindly show me a way.
To rid myself of the hurt
That I pack around each day.

This is all I ask,
So when the chance finally shows
There will be no shortcomings…
Just the joining of two souls.

I wrote this a few months before meeting my wife. We’ve been together 15+ years. 15th anniversary is 11/14.

I don’t ever share what I write. But I have an urge to share this for whom ever needs to hear it.

Oh how the sea
Long’s for the moon
Her silver face
Causes him to swoon
As the tides go in and out
He long’s for the moon
To feel her touch
Her sweet kiss
To tell her he loves her
In her lovely abyss
But the moon loves the sun
The sea she’ll never miss
