Poisonous plants?

Will coturnix eat plant leaves that are poisonous, or do they know and avoid them?

I've read about quail dying from eating avocado, obviously they didn't know that was poisonous. So I wouldn't give them the chance to eat anything poisonous.

I read the same thing about birds not eating poisonous plants. My ducks tried to eat my Columbine plant and it is on the list of plants that are toxic to them so there went that theory. Now I just cut off their access to plants they shouldn't eat or don't put it in my yard.
