Could this pullet be close to point of lay? She is a little over 5 months old and her comb is a bit more vibrant than her sister's. Definitely more vibrant than my Golden laced Sebright who is about a week older than her. She is a Cochin Bantam. Thoughts? Advice? Signs?

Red comb is one way to tell. Squatting when you touch her back is another. But I like measuring the pelvic bones.

Get the hen facing you. Find the two bony knobs on each side of the vent. Lay two fingers between them. If they fit, she's ready to lay. If they're still too close together for two fingers, she has a bit longer to go.

I can (barely) get two fingers in between her bones. I will update when we get our first egg. Should I put golf balls in the boxes to encourage her to lay there?
Yep, would be a good idea, golf balls or fake eggs.
She may have a bit more to go...and might depend on the size of your fingers too.
Some folks have thick fingers, some have slim fingers.
Pelvic bone spread, like squatting, can happen a week or 3 before you see eggs.
