POL- signs it’s close?

I’d never say no to more chicken pics 😍🤣
My girls haven’t started laying yet, but I thought I’d share some progress pictures of comb/wattles on my sexlink, Twitch (red and white feathers), in case you find it helpful. It’s a pretty big change to her appearance. I’m hopeful I will get eggs in the next couple weeks. 🤞

Ok. I’m getting anxious now lol. My oldest girls are 16 weeks exactly. When should I reasonably expect to see my first egg?

I know it varies by breed- my BR, Pepper, and CM, Mama, both hatched 4/25. Then I have a RIR, silkie, and 2 australorps that are 1-2 weeks behind them. And 2 EE that I have no idea how old they are, but I think they’re also in the 14ish week range based on their size. I have other hens but they’re definitely at least a month or two away still.

Anyway, I’m just really excited about one day (hopefully) soon waking up to find an egg! Mama and Pepper (my 2 oldest gals) both seem to be getting brighter combs/wattles, so I’m hoping that means it could be any day now. Are there any other signs to watch out for?

Pepper is the nosiest. Here she is photobombing a pic I was *trying* to take of my BCM Percival 🤣

And here’s Mama, not the greatest shot but she was feeling camera shy today 🤷🏼‍♀️

Pepper looks so much like my Lacey! That same look of indifference….

Thank you! She’s a blue copper maran. She’s also beginning to turn red and behaving like she is going to lay soon. Lots of checking out the nesting boxes and vocal as all get out! She’s not nearly as red and swollen as Twitch is, though. Here she is from Saturday - 16 weeks and a day old.

I just love her looks.

Here they are!
Not very good photos I'm afraid, as soon I start following them around they get all nervous.
The first one (that's on its side; sorry) is a hen that's laying for comparison, the next one should lay any day now, and the last one laid her first egg a couple of days after the photo was taken.

Thank you!! Are the last 2 Coronation Sussex? They’re all so pretty, but the lighter coloring looks similar to my CS (hers isn’t as full yet though)

My BR is named Pepper, too! She’s 16 weeks now - so a bit younger than your Pepper, since you posted a while ago! 😊

Has your Pepper laid yet? Mine hasn’t.
