Polish 5 toes

Hi there,

I've had 4 new chicks for a few weeks now and have just noticed 3 of them have 5 toes
Ones is a polish but I read they dont have 5 toes so I'm confused not being a chicken expert

It's true, Polish chickens should not have 5 toes.

Where did you get them? They may be cross breeds.

There is mixing, the toe is short and fused.

This is her sister/brother with the same toes but her other sister who looks polish has 4 toes

I got them from a lady who had silkies, polish and frizzle chicks
The frizzle is the brother/sister to the polish

But when I asked is the frizzle was a silkie cross she said no

Okay... she had some definite hanky panky going on EVEN if she did't realize it.

Your "Polish" ARE Silkie crosses... the first generation will always be hard feathered.

I forgot about Houdan, and ruled out Sultan in my mind already.

A true pure Frizzle would have a straight comb... I think.

My guess... that lady doesn't know WHAT she has.

So heres the thing, she sold me the polish saying they were defantly females
But now with the crossing involved would the obvious signs that they are female still stand?

I'm not really bothered if they are pure or not I'm more just interested (especially with the dodgy toes lol)
They are all very cute I just hope they are all female now or I'll have to buy a farm to keep the cockrals Haha
