POLISH (any kind is cool)

After a good 6 months of searching for a breeder, I FINALLY got my Polish Rock Band. I bought all 9 that she had because I plan on breeding them, as I think everyone who owns a chicken, or even those who don't should have one to make them smile everyday! I am SO hooked on this breed.

I'm in contact with the breeder so she can help me breed to the standard although I don't plan to show, I've bred horses and dogs all my life so I know to breed to the standard...plus, anything well bred is even more beautiful!

Mine are just 2 weeks old but their little heads are popping out like crazy. I can't wait to see what I've got. I wanted the White Crested Black the most and I have three of those, one is a white splash and I think I have some Gold Laced and maybe a silver laced in there. This breeder has a roo that is 7 different colors and I think I have one that could be very colorful. She has bred for exotic colors so I'll see what I got in a month or so....I don't know why I can't get a in focus picture of these stinkers!

This one we call Buster because he looks like he's got a black eye!

LOVE ALL THE PICS HERE!

I love them. Ours are from a hatchery. Stevie rules the roost

Rosie has feather issues - maybe they got wet? Doesn't seem to slow her/him down

And I have one more, but she is usually on the run.

I finally got pics of my Polish.

In that case Deborah looks like a hen. The reason being is that at 6 weeks my polish had that crest, but a week later it turned into a wild crest and he developed wattles. Yours looks like a hen for now.

My roo kept his girlie crest until 8.5 weeks then the spiky feathers became obvious. He had big wattles and the girls have none but people were still telling me he was a pullet because of the crest! He crowed right at 9 weeks.
