Polish are noisemakers

I’ve only had one Polish hatch in the incubator. It stayed in there for two days and is now in a crate with probiotics & electrolytes and chick starter. It’s about to drive me crazy with all the chirping. Should I put one of my week old babies in with it?

You could try but the other chick might be mean to it and might start making some noise of his own once he loses his other brood mates. You could pick up some other young ones from a feed store or something.

Okay, I just got six silkies from TSC about three days ago. Was told they were three days old but, they usually don’t have any clue. This is the worst hatch rate I’ve ever had. 1 out of 12.

That sucks. I wonder what went wrong with the other eggs. You could probably put her by the silkies. Are they close to the same size?

Oh dan those things are pretty big. Definitely a bit over 3 days. It still might work. Watch them closely for a while.
