Polish Can't See

She had crestsicles

too bad it is warm here---I could really get my husband with that one.

I have the same issue with my BPFF, Liberace. He is a silkie mix (of some kind). He sort of bumbles around until I whip out my handy safety-tipped scissors and do a little stylin'. He is still a cockerel, so the feathers seem to grow back pretty quickly as he continues to grow/molt. Here's before and after pics:

Good luck!

Oh definitely. One of my friends has Polish chickens. They're her favorite breed, and she sometimes trims the feathers if she thinks they are blocking their vision. If you don't plan on showing your Polish, I would trim them just enough so your little polish gal can see.

Thank goodness I googled this! My polish kept not going in at night (have been out of the brooder for about 2 weeks) and acts strange. Today my son and I took a good look and freaked out not knowing what we could do for her. Guess I will try my hand at hair-styling ✂️✂️

I’m having the same issue with my 3 month old polish. My question is, at what point does the feather no longer have a blood supply or how far into the feather can you cut? She still has some pin feathers on her head but she also has feathers almost completely covering her eyes. I’d love to trim them back but I want to make sure I don’t end up harming her.
