I've got a polish chicken that is starting to develop some wattles and I have been unsure if it's a hen or rooster. It's about 6 months old.

I'm leaning pullet, but the recent "haircut" comes into play as looking at the headdress is one of the characteristics used to gender ID this breed. When you say the wattle development is "recent" - how long ago did they start to show and how long have they been that color? Can you get a good, clear photo that shows the bird in a full side profile vs. the angle of this photo?

Good question! Here are a few pictures -one pre haircut and another as a chick. I noticed the red wattles coming in about a month ago

I'm thinking pullet here, the wattles could be an indication that she is coming into lay. Some of mine have started to lay at bang on 6 months.
Looks to have slim legs which would also indicate female. Nice bird you have there :D
