Our very first Polish is a silver-laced hen we named Priscilla (Her photo is below - she's 3 years old now). We've had a lot of different breeds, but her eccentric and friendly personality won our hearts. In defiance of the breed description, she went broody, successfully hatched out chicks and was a great mom to them. Later, we added Betty, a white-crested black, and the two of them have been faithful layers, good foragers, and definitely the most heat-resistant of anything we've tried. What can I say? This year we switched over our flock to mostly Polish!

Priscilla and Betty have been joined by Rudy (our Tolbunt roo, seen below), and several buff-laced and gold-laced gals that have yet to be named.

Here is one our new polish roosters, hatched in August. We had a batch of 4 with 2 roosters and 2 hens, they are crossed from a white crested black polish rooster and a red polish hen. We are planning to cross this generation with itself when they start laying to see what traits come out from that generation.
