For the past few weeks his head has been getting worst , it doesn't seem to bother him and I haven't seen any of the other chickens picking at him. What is this and what could be causing it?

Polish chickens get their head feathers pecked commonly by the other chickens. I used BluKote on my 2 when this would start, and it stains the white feathers blue, but if you use it every 2 days, it usually allows the feathers to grow back in. They may lay off awhile, but watch for more pecking in the future. Nustock cream also would work, and it is found online and in a few feed stores. It is an opaque natural pine and sulfur cream that smells strong, but helps to prevent pecking and promotes healing.

I also have another Polish Chicken but her head looks find, can anything other than pecking cause it?

I raised 2 Polish hens in my first flock of a lot of breeds and sizes. One would get all of her feathers pulled out starting around 2 months of age. The other was mostly left alone, except for a little plucking, but she was higher in the pecking order. I had them for 4-5 years, and one of them got plucked on her head for at least once a year. A young cockerel completely scalped the lower one, leaving her lifeless in a ditch, and she did recover in about a month. She would not let the roosters mate her, and she had run off, scared. That time I had to separate her in a crate in the doop, and treated with plain neosporin and later, BluKote. It took 3-4 weeks for feathers to come in. I loved the 2 hens, but would never get more crested breeds in a mixed flock, even though mine were mostly non-agressive. Unfortunately I lost both of them to separate predator attacks, one being decapitated by 2 hawks last year they pulled her head through a chainlink fence.
