So I have seven polish chickens that are around 12-14 weeks. It's my first time owning polish and while I found sexing my other breeds fairly easy, these guys have me so confused. I can't tell if any of them really have spiked/pointed feathers in their crest although I have a few with very large and disheveled crests. I only have one blue splash that I am confident is a hen.

My blues all have smaller crests and then my tolbunts both have large crests as does my buff laced.
I see no sign of waddles on my Tolbunt or the buff
Three of the blues have them but I read that you can't really trust waddles for sexing. I haven't heard any of them crow.

I'm hoping for help because they're getting big enough that I really need to start getting down to four or five birds.

This blue splash isn't my for sure female. I think it's a girl but hard to tell. If going by waddles I'd say boy I think.

This blue I thought was a boy but the crest is so small?

My other that I thought was a boy but also has a small crest. This and the one above have dominant personalities

Based on attitude I'd think this one was a roo but it's really pale and from what I've seen buff roos are more orange? It's feathers are tapered a little but no obvious spikey type feathers but it's crest is very large.

This Tolbunt I'm hoping isn't a roo because my daughter is super attached but I really want to keep a blue rooster not a Tolbunt

This is the other Tolbunt. It still has a messy crest but not as big as the other.

I really hope to get some help. I'd hate to give away a favorite just to find out later it wasn't a rooster or to give away some only to find out I got rid of all of my roosters.

I took better pics tonight and feel a little more confident in saying I think two of the blues, the buff, and the larger crested Tolbunt are boys. I'm not sure about the others still.

Blue #1 pretty positive it's a roo

Blue #2 also pretty sure it's a roo

Blue #3 I'm not sure you can tell, it's just the best pic I got and didn't realize it was bad til now. Im pretty sure this one is female.

Blue #4 I'm unsure

Tolbunt #2

I believe the buff laced is a roo. The males have darker feathers in the crest whereas the females are lighter. You can see some of the darker feathers starting to grow in on yours. Also, the crest is very long and not neat. Blue #1 and #2 are roos based on the wattles. Cant see the blurry pic of blue #3. Blue #4 looks like a hen to me. I’m not familiar with Tolbunts so it makes it more difficult to guess but if their crest development is like other types of Polish then I would guess Tolbunt #1 is roo and #2 is hen. I’ve attached photos of my buff and blue hens at this age for reference.

Thank you so much for your insight. I'm sad by the news but you just sort of confirmed that all of our favorites look to be boys 😅
My daughter is in love with that Tolbunt roo but my plan had been to keep a pair of blues because there's already a local breeder producing Tolbunts and no one that I know of breeding blues. The blue roosters are more friendly as well. My fiance and I really like the buff but I'm not sure I like the look of buff roosters as much with all the dark gold as we have plenty of that in our free range ee mix flock. So it seems like I have some things to consider because I only have room for a few birds so only one roo can stay. Thanks again!

I found a local polish breeder who wanted to buy my roos and she came over and helped make sure I sexed everyone properly and brought me a pullet as a partial trade! Thank you for your advice!

Your Tolbunt were GORGEOUS, but I’m glad they were able to find a new home. Too bad at least one wasn’t a hen so your daughter could keep one.
