I hatched 2 of them. They are 8 weeks old. Their feathers look different? One of them has these weird looking pin like feathers on its tail. Is it a boy?

It’s the chick on the right - like it just has the quill but lost some of the barbs/vane bits? Is it just a genetic thing? The chick on the left is it’s sibling.

I don’t see any waddles or comb reddening happening on either of them. So it’s hard to tell the gender.

I hatched three polish chicks that are 9 weeks old, and one has feathered out very differently in the tail and crest too. Interestingly, I had ours DNA sexed because I didn't want the kids to get too attached to any boys, and they all came back as girls (luckiest hatch ever!) but that one weird feathered bird always has me wondering if they messed up the samples somehow! 😂. I am going by who is growing wattles right now, and at 9 weeks no one has any. I have my fingers crossed for you!

they funny looking can't see there face what are these?
