Do you know if there is a 'tell' on the white chicks down from that cross, to tell at hatch if they inherited barring?
The white chick hatched the 2nd already has black spots showing in its new wing feathers, so it is a good bet that it inherited barring.
My friend I inherited them from hatched them from purchased eggs. She moved cross-country before the pair was mature. We are having a ball trying to guess genetics. Now that chicks are hatching, we are watching them close. I'll be shipping her their eggs to hatch as soon as the weather is cooler.
Someone mentioned the barred hen looks 'Houdan-ish'. She is 4-toed, but she does have a different body shape than the Polish I've seen before.
That hen is adorable, by the way.
