My buff laced polish crest has broken and bleeding tail feathers. No mites, no lice. He gets protein feed with selenium and vitamin e cause I know they are prone to wry neck. Anything else that could be causing this. We have plucked all the broken feathers before new ones looked good then all of a sudden he’s bleeding again. Do I need to up his protein? Any advice would be wonderful. Thank you

Polish often get bullied a lot...😥

How can I stop this? It hadn’t happened in years then all of a sudden.
if it was my chicken, i'd separate him and make sure he's getting good food and let his feathers regrow, but if he's gone for too long, the other chickens will treat him as even more of an outsider. in good weather i'd let them free range so that they were all distracted and bullied chickens could hide/ do their own thing. in the winter, i open the door to their run so that they could run out/ have more space. lots of roosts help so he isn't stuck next to bullies. you could do boredom buster stuff, multiple feeders + waterers, lots of space, roosts, and places to hide. personally, i'd separate him for a bit, poor guy.

one of my chickens suffered similarly, and the other chickens wouldn't leave her alone at all...she had her own room in the coop for the rest of her life.
