My mom swears she heard a pre-mature crow the other day, but it was raining hard and I find it hard to believe she really did, considering that I couldn't even really hear the mature roos.

When I make the best mock-crow I can, he chirps along. Very loudly! And persistantly! He'd also walk around looking up in the air as if he were looking for something. And he listens carefully, too. Is this another sign?

Thats darn cute, but how can he see?! I have a WC Polish who is a sweet boy, and he is at the total bottom of pecking order. He can see out of the side because they keep pulling his poor feathers! He looks like a monk now, with a bald top. Poor dude! Good luck with yours!

Lol, we're planning on getting rid of our other roos and there will be alot of confusion in the flock, which is when he and his brooder-mates will be added. I didn't expect him and I just want him to have the best start in life.

With power comes greed. You should be happy he is at the bottom. You could try to see if he'd tolerate a rubber-band around his head to keep his feather up. My adult doesn't like it, though.

I worry that my little guy will fall victim to either predators or the other hens...so much work! Good luck with your boy! He sounds lovely.
