This is Cooky and Cupcake. These "girls" are supposed to be about 3 months old. I'm convinced that Cooky is a pullet, but Cupcake I'm not so sure about. Your opinions? These are my first Polish so wasn't sure at what age you'd be able to tell the difference. (First 2 photos: Cupcake is on the left. Cooky on the right.) The third photo is the two together, with Cooky standing in the front.

Well... this is sorta funny. After getting these girls, I ordered polish eggs and hatched them in an effort to get a little roo to go with these girls. I now have 7 adorable little polish chicks sitting in a brooder in my living room!

Is he getting thinner/narrower, and longer top hat feathers coming in on his head??? On my males they start to get longer narrower top hats at that age and start to look like rock stars with dred locks hanging down... Oh well guess you will find out in a few months... Let us know what he/she is... I have two Polish Roos and they do fine together with 9 hens. some are standard and some are bantam and they all get along fine so there is no reason why you couldn't keep more than one Roo in my opinion... I'm actually trying to get the frizzled chocolate and chocolate cookoo colors in the standard size with my breeding program.... That is why I have two different sizes... Yours look like standards. Is that currect?

Since my original posting was a year ago... I now know that both were pullets. I raised several to go with these two, but had a lot of trouble getting these two to accept the others. One was a silver laced pullet which they abused so badly I finally had to put her in a coop by herself. they did, however, eventually accept two of the other pullets as coop-mates and they free range together daily and are inseparable.

Polish are beautiful birds and I've enjoyed having these, but they are not my favorite breed and are not as friendly as my other breeds. These are probably my last.

Hello, fellow Arkansan! I love the photos on your BYC page. Hardy would be a great place to live. We used to canoe the Spring River every Summer.
