It was about 10 hours. Number 4 was about 12 hours and have just got up and 5 and 6 hatched in the night. The other 4 polish have pipped but no action yet from the Wyandotte x Orpington
Wow so the incubation period is only about 3 weeks? I'm totally new to this and know nothing...pretty cool! I love polish, have a silver laced and a buff.
Hi Mauka
Yes 21 days is the baseline for incubation of chicken eggs. Some come a little early as these polish have and some a little late. No set rules for incubation. This is a good read if your maybe thinking about having a go. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-101. I love then too have a variety of colours now and various ages. Hoping to start my own breeding groups soon.
Numbers 8 and 9 are out sometime in last two hours while I've been out doing the horses. Number 10 pipped and finally that Wyandotte x Orpington has pipped too. Hope I get 100% hatch again can't wait only two to go e
Number 10 in last couple of hours dry and fluffy so all 10 polish hatched ok . Have moved them to brooder here's a few pics. Still waiting on the Wyandotte x Orpington. Colours are 3 gold lace 2 blue 2 white 1 black and 2 silver lace. So pleased with them little cuties.
So in post #18, the top picture, is the greyish colored one with the stripe down its back, is that the silver laced? And the 2 by the food bowl in the top picture, are they black with the white tophat?
Yeah the top picture with the stripe is silver lace. But the other two are the blues they have slight white patch in the top hat. Which going by my last blue one will equate to maybe 1 or 2 white feathers in top hat.
