My 9wk old Polish baby appears to have an injured rt leg. She is able to walk on it with a little limp but immediately rests and does not place any weight on the foot when she lays down. She has her leg pushed out in front of her. I did hold her any feel her leg up and down including the foot. She didn’t wince at all. We believe she may have been injured from the other pullets as they are much heavier (Orpingtons). We removed her from the flock with another pullet.
Any recommendations? We want to make sure she heals and is okay. ❤️‍🩹

If you've checked her over, bottom of foot as well and felt for extra warmth at her hip joint, or anything that might suggest she has a dislocation, the best thing I've found is to confine them to a per carrier (not a cage) in the house for a couple of days to rest the leg. Tendon strains tend to take longer to heal than muscle pulls. Something like this with a couple of folded towels on the bottom has worked well for me.

It is also worth getting some Metacam which is an a pain killer as well as an anti infamatory drug.

While she is outside with the rest she is unlikely to give her leg the rest it needs.
Confine her now and hopefull within a couple of days she will have rested the leg enough to rejoin her mates.
Warning. Do not give her Metacam once she rejoins the group. Because it's a pain killer she is likely to be far more active than she should be and this can make the problem worse.
