The crest gene is semi dominant. Not all offspring will inherit the crest.

Here's a Silkie cross as an example. Notice she has a single comb, instead of walnut, comb, or rose comb? I get rose combs thrown out occasionally. Also note she has no Crest, but has black skin, feathered feet, & 5 toes?

Polish are different than silkies. Their crest is much larger than most silkies’ crests. I’ve never seen a polish cross without even a small crest.

They still carry the crest gene, so I didn't really think it would be much different.

That is not a Polish mix.

Agreed, if either parent was a purebred Polish chicken, she'd have a crest.
