I have a 8 week polish pullet. I got her around 2 weeks ago. Every since then, at least a few times a day, she kind of "yawns/gags", she is very healthy other wise, very active, eats, drinks, etc. She has been with 1 other chick who stays with her but never done this. Is this anything I should be worried about? I heard of gapeworm but I know it is very rare and has other signs too so I really don't think its that. She does it at least a few times a day, in the beginning I thought she was just yawning or something but know I'm not sure because she still does this, is this anything to be worried about? I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask, shes my baby and I wouldn't want anything happening to her

Yes it's normal. All chickens do it throughout the day. The action of raising the head and opening the mouth causes the crop contents to get shifted about.

You will see it more in those that eat quickly, or too much.

Thank you so much, its reliving to know that, she is my baby lol. Thats her when I got her (2 weeks ago:))
